Every acquisition at Art Continum follows a structured, secure, and personally guided process — from the moment a work catches your eye to the day it arrives in your hands.
Acquiring art through Art Continum is designed to be transparent, unhurried, and fully supported. We guide every collector — whether acquiring their first work or building an established collection — through each step with care and clarity.
The Process
01 — Buyer Intake Form
Required
Before we proceed with any acquisition, we ask you to complete a short intake form. This allows us to verify your identity, understand your delivery requirements, and maintain accurate records of all sales as required under applicable compliance regulations governing the international art market.
Takes approximately 3 minutes. No payment details collected at this stage.
02 — Condition Report & Video Viewing
High-Value Works
For works valued at USD 1,000 and above, you may request a detailed written condition report and a live video call to view the artwork before committing. We accommodate all reasonable requests within 48 hours.
Optional — available upon request prior to signing your Purchase Agreement.
03 — Artwork Purchase Agreement
Required
Upon review of your intake form, we issue a formal Artwork Purchase Agreement covering the full terms of your acquisition — including artwork details, shipping, returns policy, intellectual property, and governing law. Issued within 1–2 business days of your intake submission.
Governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
04 — Invoice
Required
A formal invoice is issued detailing the artwork, agreed sale price, shipping and insurance costs, and total amount due in USD. This serves as the official record of your acquisition and is required for customs and import documentation.
05 — Payment
Required
Payment instructions are provided based on your preferred method — credit or debit card, wire transfer, ACH, or other approved options. All transactions are processed in USD. Your artwork is held during this process and released for shipment only upon confirmed receipt of full payment.

06 — Payment Receipt
Confirmation
Upon successful receipt of payment, a formal payment receipt is issued. This confirms your acquisition is complete and that your artwork has been cleared for packing and dispatch.
07 — Certificate of Authenticity
Included
A Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Artist accompanies every original work, confirming the artwork's title, artist, year of creation, medium, dimensions, and edition details where applicable. Art Continum co-signs the certificate to verify the sale.
Dispatched with the artwork or delivered digitally upon request.
08 — Packing, Dispatch & Tracking
Delivery
Your artwork is professionally packed and dispatched via DHL Express or an approved carrier at the service level confirmed at checkout — Standard, Premium, or White Glove. You will receive a shipment tracking number by email once your work is on its way. Works valued at USD 1,000 and above are fully insured during transit and require a signature upon delivery.
Import duties and customs fees at the destination are the buyer's responsibility.
For Heritage & High-Value Acquisitions
- Export documentation and cultural clearance handled by Art Continum where applicable
- Enhanced White Glove packaging and specialist handling available on request
- Additional provenance documentation provided for Bazaar heritage items marked Authentic Antique
- Resale royalty obligations apply to works by Exclusively Represented Artists — 5% of gross resale price
