My work takes inspiration from the beauty, complexity and mystery of life itself. Using vibrant African prints, symbols and patterns, I invite viewers on an introspective journey to understand our experience in the universe.

Kwame Alorlete Akpokavi is a contemporary Ghanaian artist known for his unique fabric collage technique and philosophical approach to art. His works explore themes of identity, spirituality, and the human condition through vibrant African textile prints, symbols, and patterns.

A graduate of the College of Art, KNUST, Kumasi, and Manchester University, UK, Kwame initially worked as a sculptor in wood and clay. In 2018, he refocused his practice on environmental care, developing a collage technique involving African textile prints (Ankara) and found objects on canvas. Since 2021, he has been working from his studio in Accra, producing unique pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and intellectually stimulating, while also facilitating art workshops and events to increase appreciation of art within the African context.
