This installation is situated in front of a textile shop within the Grand Market of Lomé, a setting chosen for its historical and cultural significance.

Much of the market's prominence is owed to the Nana Benz—the influential women textile merchants who became a cornerstone of Togo's economy during the 1970s. Renowned for their entrepreneurial success and economic influence, they transformed the trade in wax-print fabrics and played a pivotal role in shaping the country's commercial landscape.

By placing Resilience and Uncertainty within this environment, Tessi pays tribute to the perseverance, enterprise, and resilience embodied by generations of market traders. The work acknowledges the strength required to navigate uncertainty while celebrating the enduring spirit of those whose daily labor sustains both community and economy.
