Day 1 — Wednesday, January 6

Accra → Aflao → Lomé (Transit) → Ouidah

  • Ghana–Togo border formalities
  • Transit through Lomé
  • Continue to Ouidah

Afternoon

  • Arrival in Ouidah
  • Check-in and settle into accommodation
  • Begin activities
  • Light exploration of nearby cultural or historical sites

Evening

  • Introduction to the festival atmosphere
  • Music, performances, and night ceremonies
  • Return to accommodation

 

Day 2 — Thursday, January 7

Vodun Festival Immersion

Morning

  • Breakfast at the accommodation
  • Participation in Vodun Festival ceremonies and activities
  • Introduction to shrines, symbols, and cultural rites
  • Exploration of artisan markets and central Ouidah

Afternoon

  • Festival activities
  • Guided cultural experiences
  • Exploration of Ouidah

Evening

  • Cultural evening atmosphere
  • Music, performances, and night ceremonies
  • Return to accommodation

 

Day 3 — Friday, January 8

Cultural Sites & Local Exploration

Morning

  • Breakfast
  • Visits to key cultural and historical sites
  • Additional stops depending on the official festival programme and group interests

Afternoon

  • Additional guided visits
  • Route of the Slaves
  • Door of No Return
  • Art, exhibitions, and cultural spaces
  • Free time for personal exploration

Evening

  • Festival and beach-town atmosphere
  • Music, performances, ceremonies, or other scheduled festival activities
  • Return to accommodation

 

Day 4 — Saturday, January 9

Ouidah → Lomé (Transit) → Accra

Morning

  • Breakfast
  • Optional short visits or festival activities depending on timing
  • Check-out and preparation for departure

Afternoon

  • Begin return journey
  • Benin–Togo border formalities
  • Transit through Lomé
  • Togo–Ghana border formalities
  • Continue to Accra

Evening

  • Arrival in Accra, subject to border processing, traffic, and road conditions
  • End of programme
