Will there be a day-by-day itinerary?
Yes. However, the final day-by-day itinerary is not yet available.
The Vodun Festival is a living cultural celebration, and many ceremonies, processions, performances, and official activities are confirmed closer to the festival dates. Rather than publish an itinerary based on assumptions, we prefer to build our programme around the confirmed schedule as it becomes available.
Successful applicants will receive the detailed itinerary as soon as the official programme is released and our activities are confirmed. In the meantime, participants can expect a combination of festival ceremonies and celebrations, cultural and historical sites, art and exhibitions, local experiences, and time to discover Ouidah.
Everyone Is Welcome
You do not need to practise Vodun, be African, or be Black to join us.
Like visiting a cathedral, mosque, temple, or other sacred space, you do not need to belong to the faith to respectfully experience and learn from its traditions.
We simply ask that you arrive with curiosity, openness, cultural sensitivity, and respect.
More Than the Festival
Ouidah during this period is alive with far more than ceremonies.
Expect a programme that moves between Vodun traditions, music, concerts, art, exhibitions, heritage, architecture, local food, historical sites, community celebrations, and the unexpected moments that make travelling through West Africa so memorable.
The festival has its own rhythm. Processions move, schedules change, and some of the most memorable experiences are not always publicly announced. Our role is to help you navigate that rhythm.
What Is Not Included
Lunch and dinner, travel insurance, personal purchases, optional activities outside the scheduled programme, and personal travel expenses are not included unless otherwise stated.
